Max Smith, born in Germany, found his love for electronic music and moving melodies at the age of 14. In 2005 he started the project „Fusion“ together with his colleague Dave Baker. In 2008, their first release, the „Inspiration EP“ under the label Ultimate House Records, started successfully and the track „Freakquence“ climbed to #6 in the German dance charts within the first weeks. They toured throughout Germany and even planned a US tour. Their performance in Luxembourg remains unforgotten.

Under his name Dj Distex, he was resident DJ at club „Underground“ in Trier, Germany. After this time he concentrated on producing songs and sound design of various advertising spots and video games. Among other things, he composed the music for an award ceremony of the then German President Joachim Gaug. In 2014 he started again under the name Max Smith and built a new studio. In his career from 1998 until today he produced a lot of unreleased trance tracks. Since 2018, the sound has become more progressive and his productions could be described as a mixture of progressive trance and deep house. During this time he collaborated with different producers.

Max Smith released his new studio album „Progressive World“ in May 2021 followed by his Mojoheadz Records debut single „Back To Me“ in June 2021.
